Zooming To Victory

Sold through Aquis’ 2018 Inglis Premier yearling sale draft to trainer Anthony Freedman, Thursday’s impressive Seymour winner Aerozoom looks destined for bigger things off the back of his victory.

Settling back in the field, jockey Damian Lane bided his time in the run before asking his mount for an effort just before the home turn.

Coming across the heels of those ahead of him, Aerozoom forced his way through a narrow gap before charging to the line to chase down the leader Material Mistress.

Holding a nomination to the Gr.1 Caulfield Guineas (1600m), Lane was suitably impressed by the win.

“To make up that much ground in such a short space was a good effort,” Lane stated post-race.

Bred by clients Rothwell Park, Aerozoom is the seventh winner from seven runners for dual city winning mare Pegasus Queen.

Already the dam of Gr.3 winners Metallic Crown and the dual Listed winner Snitzepeg, Pegasus Queen is currently in foal to Invader, Snitzel’s only Champion 2YO colt at stud, with a booking pencilled in for Exceed And Excel’s Gr.3-winning son Performer, who is standing his debut season for $8,800 (inc. GST) at Canungra.
