Declaration Of War x Super Pie (by Pivotal)
Standing at Canungra, QLD

Successful in the Gr.1 French 2,000 Guineas (1600m), Declaration Of War’s highest Timeform Rated runner Olmedo (Fr) will join the Queensland stallion ranks in 2020 and stand at Aquis Canungra.

A four length 2YO debut winner at Deauville followed by a second in the Gr.1 Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere (1600m) two starts later behind Cartier Champion 2YO Filly Happily, and ultimately named France’s Champion 2YO of 2017 on the World Thoroughbred Rankings, it was during his Classic season that Olmedo’s win in the French 2,000 Guineas highlighted the impressive individual as a serious prospect.

Victory in the time-honoured Classic mirrored the prior winning success of shuttle stallions Shamardal and Lope de Vega, sires of the Australian foaled World Champions Able Friend (Miler) and Santa Ana Lane (Sprinter), respectively.

With the outstanding success of Declaration Of War in Australia, highlighted by his Gr.1 winners Vow And Declare (Melbourne Cup), Warning (Victoria Derby) and Winning Ways (Queensland Oaks), as well as his exciting Gr.2-winning, Hong Kong-based sprinter Voyage Warrior and the up and coming War of Courage, all from just two locally foaled crops, his tremendous statistics of 20% Winners to Black-Type performers and 12% Winners to Stakes Winners further highlights what an exciting proposition Olmedo is.

  • "He has some acceleration to chase the leaders down from there, and it's not easy here when they get away in front."

Jean-Claude Rouget, Leading Trainer in France

  • "He has a good turn of foot and then he can accelerate again to run the others down."

Christian Demuro, Champion Jockey in France
