The two private purchases brokered by Aquis Farm have got the quinella again in Hong Kong last night in the HK$1,380,000 Hong Kong Jockey Club Chongqing Handicap won by Land Grant and Famous Warrior running second.

The same two horses won the quinella back in April in the HK$1,310,000 Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Handicap.

Famous Warrior (Husson) set a track record in the Grafton Guineas in July 2017 before being purchased by Aquis Farm. Being by Husson who has been a notably successful sire in Hong Kong, he really appealed to Aquis’ Head of Asian and Private Sales, Tom Inglis; “Famous Warrior had been successful on predominantly firm tracks and setting a class record by a sire very successful in Hong Kong (Husson) he covered all bases”.

Land Grant, who beat Famous Warrior in both races had five starts in Australia, winning over $75,000 in prize money before being purchased by Aquis Farm for the rapidly expanding Hong Kong market and has since gone on to net over $735,921 in earnings for his connections.

It may as well have been a two-horse race with Land Grant leading the entire way and Famous Warrior following closely, with the pair bolting for home leaving the remainder of the field lengths behind.

Aquis Farm has proven private purchase success within the Asian market and continues to grow with our extensive client base.
