Foot Injury Rules Aclaim Out This Season

Due to an ongoing foot issue, Acclamation’s Gr.1 Prix de la Foret winner Aclaim (IRE) will be unable to shuttle to Aquis’ Canungra property for the upcoming breeding season.

Proving extremely popular in his first few seasons at the National Stud, Aclaim was identified as a stallion prospect that would suit Queensland breeders and it’s unfortunate he won’t be able to join the Aquis stallion roster this year.

With ongoing foot issues during the latter part of his northern hemisphere covering season, National Stud’s Tim Lane indicated that a careful regime of foot management by farriers will see the Gr.1 winner back to optimum health in due course.

“Unfortunately Aclaim’s foot injury will see the Gr.1 winner unable to travel to Australia for the upcoming breeding season to undertake his first southern hemisphere season,” stated Aquis’ Chief Executive Officer Shane McGrath.

“Although the injury is not serious enough to stop Aclaim from covering in the future, the decision not to travel has been made in the best interest of the horse and we wish the team at the National Stud along with owner Phoenix Thoroughbreds the best of luck moving forward with the popular stallion.”
