Exceptional First Foals For Santos

The Invincible Spirit sire-line is all the rage the world over, and tenacious Gr.2 ATC Skyline Stakes winner Santos offers breeders access to a pedigree that has proven extremely successful both locally and internationally.

With only two Group-winning sons of I Am Invincible having had runners to date, producing 15 stakes performers from two crops to race, not only does Santos have the early juvenile stakes-winning class that breeder’s crave, but his success in the Skyline Stakes mirrors previous winners Strategic, Viscount, Choisir, Snitzel, Casino Prince, All American and Manhattan Rain – all Group 1 producing sires.

The presence of Invincible Spirit’s sons and grandsons at stud have grown significantly in recent years due to their outstanding success, with his sons alone producing over 150 stakes winners highlighted by 17 individual Gr.1 winners, nine of which were achieved in Australasia alone, through Santos’ sire I Am Invincible.

Completely free of Danehill blood, Santos has the good looks, natural speed and quality that are the hallmarks of his record-breaking sire I Am Invincible, which was evident in the exciting first book of mares he received, from breeders including Ambergate Stud, Bowness Stud, Byerley Stud, Chatsworth Park, Emirates Park, Glastonbury Farm, Mt Hallowell Stud, Neil Osborne and Toolooganvale Stud.

The arrival of the first foals for a stallion proprietor is always an exciting moment, and with Santos’ first crop hitting the ground this season, breeders across the country who supported him in his debut season are effusive in their praise of the quality foals he is producing.

One such judge is Middlebrook Valley Lodge’s Verna Metcalfe.

“We’ve had three Santos foals arrive so far this season, and what an impressive group they are! They are strong, correct, lovely bodied foals with great bone under them. They’ll develop into exceptional weanlings, and best of all they’re athletic…Santos has really stamped these foals,” stated Metcalfe.

Another is Cannon Hayes Stud’s filly out of the Toronado mare Zee. “Lovely strong attractive filly with good confirmation. She’s a cracker maiden foal. We will definitely be using Santos again in the future,” stated David Morrisey.
