Brilliant Sales Success for Spill the Beans

In Farm News, Spill The Beans, Stallions by Ben Ready

The intention of Aquis Farm to retain their first crop progeny of exciting young stallion Spill the Beans meant his offspring were in short supply at the record breaking 2019 Magic Millions Yearling Sale, but small numbers proved no hurdle to the good looking son of Snitzel, who more than made his mark at the Gold Coast last week.

Segenhoe Stud enjoyed a spectacular pinhooking success with a powerful chestnut colt by Spill the Beans.

Segenhoe purchased the colt from Love of Liberty for $50,000 from the Kitchwin Hills draft at the Magic Millions National Weanling Sale and when re-offered as a yearling he made $280,000 to the bid of Spill the Beans former trainer Gerald Ryan.

The big result was not an isolated success for Spill the Beans, whose only other yearling offered in Book One, a colt from Khameela, made $170,000 for Arrowfield Stud when secured by Aquis Racing/ Tony Gollan Racing.

The list below shows the performance of all first season sires in Book One, no matter if they had just one yearling sold, and at the top is Spill the Beans, who stood for just $11,000.

His average for two yearlings sold of $225,000 equated to 20.4 times service fee, a remarkable result!

The good results continued in Book Two for Spill the Beans where a further four yearlings were offered and sold with a colt from Tiptoe and filly from O’Venus both fetching $80,000 with Aquis Farms P/L/James Moore/Summit Racing signing for the former and Aquis Farms Pty Ltd/Kendrick Racing the latter.

An undefeated two year-old and Group II winning sprinter at three, Spill the Beans has had every opportunity to succeed covering 480 mares in his first three seasons and his homebred retained Aquis offspring are pleasing our team at every turn.
