In a massive weekend for Aquis Farm we not only hosted the first of our stallion parades for 2017 at our Queensland property we also achieved some great results on the track in Australia while our first Aquis-owned runner in North America saluted at Saratoga on Saturday.
Owned by Stonestreet Stables in partnership with Aquis, the Mark Casse trained two year-old colt Machtree was able to score a determined debut win in the 1 and 1/16th mile maiden on turf.
A $450,000 Keeneland September purchase by top class Group I sire Kitten’s Joy, Machtree is from Grade II placed Lady Lumberjack, a daughter of stakes-winner Harbor Blues.
Meanwhile, back at home our versatile and extremely popular sire Domesday has made a swift start to the new season with six winners since August 1 including progressive five year-old Ingeegoodbe who made it back to back wins at Doomben on Saturday.
The Robert Heathcote trained gelding has blossomed this campaign with metropolitan wins at his past two starts.
Having his first try at 2040 metres on Saturday, Ingegoodbe relished the task and surged clear to win by three-quarters of a length.
His overall record now stands at four wins and three placings from 17 starts with prizemoney topping $80,000.
Ingeegoodbe was a $41,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Ampulla Lodge draft for renowned judge Paul Willetts and is the second winner from Magic Summer, a half-sister by Magic Albert to stakes-winner Roadagain.
Domesday has been in great form this year with star progeny including Group I BRC Queensland Derby winner Ruthven and unbeaten stakes-winner Royal Symphony, who is preparing for his three year-old season.
Domesday stands at a fee of $8,800 and is one of seven stallions that will be paraded at Aquis Farm on Sunday.
