All The Attributes Breeders Target

Record-breaking, precocious, stakes-winning juvenile – attributes breeders look for in a stallion – and Aquis’ first-season sire Bellevue Hill ticks all those boxes.

A winner on debut in Canberra’s Black Opal Preview in a time of 57.15, pulling away from his rival by more than 5 lengths, the time recorded by the son of Pierro was the fastest ever achieved by a 2yo over the 1000m at the track.

Heading straight into black type races after his sensational win, Bellevue Hill took on a class field in the Gr.2 Todman Stakes and after doing all the work up front, was run down late to finish second, beaten a half-length margin by eventual The Everest winner Yes Yes Yes.

Third in the race was Dubious, the Aquis Canungra-based stallion who highlighted his speed with a recording breaking debut win in the Breeders’ Plate, running the fastest time ever recorded.

Finishing behind Bellevue Hill that day in the Todman was Bivouac, Strasbourg and Time To Reign, all quality juvenile stakes winners.

Recording a quicker time than his own sire Pierro achieved in his Todman Stakes win, Bellevue Hill went on to record a facile two length victory in the Gr.3 Schweppervescence Stakes over Strasbourg the following week.

In the process, Bellevue Hill achieved a juvenile Timeform Rating of 116, a mark better or equal, than the likes of what Bivouac, Cosmic Force, Yes Yes Yes, Trapeze Artist, The Autumn Sun and Astern also achieved at 2.

A son of Pierro, whose 23 stakes winners include six Gr.1 winners highlighted by fellow Aquis first season sire Pierata, Shadow Hero and Regal Power, Bellevue Hill is out of the speedy, 1000m winner Bellevue Girl, a full-sister to Exceed And Excel’s Gr.3 winner Sugar Babe from the family of dual Gr.2 winner On Type.

The Aquis Sales Team is here to discuss your 2020 Breeding Plans, and with Bellevue Hill standing at an extremely competitive fee of $11,000 (inc. GST).
