Overview

Off to a flying start, The Mission was crowned Champion Queensland First Season Sire for 2021/22 (3rd in Australia) and again finished his second season on a high courtesy of Group winner and multiple Group placed Yellow Brick ($1.4 million in earnings), City Mission, Kalumburu, Mission of Love etc.

The current season is continuing in kind with Annabel Neasham’s city winner Perfect Mission, along with multiple winners Average Jane, Bakerloo, Saddles and co.

On the racetrack, The Mission – by sire of sires Choisir – was an outstandingly tough 2YO, and a two and a half-length winner of the Gr.3 ATC Schweppervescence Handicap, before ending his juvenile campaign with a dominant win in the Gr.1 ATC Champagne Stakes, a race won in the past by Gr.1 producing sires Pierro and Helmet.

At three he was beaten less than two lengths in the Gr.1 ATC All Aged Stakes at Randwick by Trapeze Artist and Redzel under weight-for-age conditions in a race run in track-record time.

Out of a Redoute’s Choice mare, just like the successful Gr.1 sire Zoustar, The Mission is the ONLY Gr.1-winning, Champion 2YO by his sire standing at stud in Australia.

The Mission is the fourth Gr.1-winning stallion from the Paul Perry stables, following on from Fastnet Rock, Stratum and The Mission’s very own sire Choisir.

A stunning individual with the pedigree and physique to match, The Mission was bred by Edinglassie Stud, whose other leading farm graduates include the successful, proven Gr.1 sires Deep Field, Shooting To Win, and Nadeem.
