Aquis Farm shuttler Dream Ahead (USA) went very close to siring stakes-winners in two hemispheres on Saturday with classy colt Ken’s Dream beaten half a length into third in the Listed VRC AR Creswick Series Final at Flemington, while in the UK promising filly Tisbutadream took out the Listed Coral Distaff Stakes at Sandown.
Prepared by David Elsworth, Tisbutadream disappointed at her previous run at Royal Ascot but bounced back to make all the play in front and win this one mile contest by half a length.
A half-sister to Group III winner Persuasive from the stakes-winning Choisir mare Choose Me, Tisbutadream has won five of 11 starts.
She will now look to target the Group III Atalanta Stakes at Sandown, a race also won by her half-sister.
“Tisbutadream is tough and she’s well related, and she’s still on an upward curve. I thought we were snookered in the last 100 yards but she’s tenacious,” said David Elsworth.
Tisbutadream is the tenth stakes-winner for champion sprinter Dream Ahead, who stands at Aquis Farm’s Hunter Valley base Emirates Park at a fee of $19,800.
Completely free of Danehill blood, Dream Ahead is proving highly successful with Danehill line mares with four of his 10 stakes-winners bred this way including three of his four Australian stakes-winners, who are all from daughters of Redoute’s Choice.
