The recent stallion parade at our Hunter Valley property attracted a slew of top breeders and trainers to view our stunning roster that will be standing 2017.
Not surprisingly one of our debutants Divine Prophet attracted a heap of attention with crowds keen to see first hand how he was shaping up for the season.
A genuine top-class colt by a proven sire of sires in Choisir, Divine Prophet scored a career defining victory in the Group I MRC Caulfield Guineas (previously won by Lonhro and Redoute’s Choice) over subsequent Group I VRC Australian Guineas winner Hey Doc.
A winner at two and Group I placed in the ATC Champagne Stakes behind dual Group I winner Prized Icon, Divine Prophet also posted a sparkling win in the Group III ATC Up and Coming Stakes, previously won by Snitzel, Fastnet Rock and Exceed And Excel – all of whom have gone on to become Champion Sires.
Scott Irwin from Rothwell Park said Divine Prophet was one of the nicest freshman stallions in the Hunter Valley.
“He would be in the top three. He is right up there with Astern and Capitalist to the extent we are going to support him wth five stakes winning mares,” he said. “He has the most perfect angles from the ground up and he reminds me so much of Encosta del Lago.”
Divine prophet is a full brother to Group I placed Group III winner Proisir (now at stud in New Zealand) and is from blue hen producer Prophet Jewel, whose 2017 yearling filly by Exceed And Excel sold for $1.2 million at Inglis Easter.
