Aquis Farm is pleased to confirm it will run the Toby Edmonds trained Houtzen in its slot in the $10 million The Everest at Royal Randwick in Sydney on October 14.
Houtzen completed a strong return to form with a Moonee Valley win on the weekend, saluting in the Group 3 Scarborough Stakes (1,200m). The win followed a third at Moonee Valley in the Group 2 McEwen Stakes (1,000m) on September 9.
The Magic Millions 2YO Classic winner’s return to form cemented Aquis’ decision to enter The Everest.
“We are delighted to have her represent us,” Aquis Farm CEO Shane McGrath said.
“Her run on the weekend confirmed she is coming into good form and we are very confident of her chances… or we wouldn’t run her.”
“Toby has given her a faultless preparation up to now, she is thriving and settled well.”
Aquis purchased its slot in The Everest earlier this year, along with its interest in Houtzen.
“The Everest is another avenue for Aquis Farm to help increase the confidence in the Queensland racing industry, by ensuring Queensland participation in such a high calibre race,” Mr McGrath said.
